I'm back in the land of the connected!!!!

I was not sure I was going to survive the time without tv, internet, and phone.  I surprised myself because what I missed the most was definitely the internet.  I realized how addicted I am to feeling connected.  I actually felt lost sitting here in the house each evening.  Once the kids went to bed the silence was so amazingly loud.  There were some perks, I did get some good reading and unpacking done and I really enjoyed listening to music at night.  My husband and I actually had good conversations when he got home from work.  However, I could not stand not being able to watch the news, write my blog, search the MLS, or read and comment on other blogs.  I am really glad that this forced electronic vacation is over and that I am back!

Stacey- A forced electronic vacation....Hummmmm interesting- I am away right now at our cabin. It is not really too remote- I can do without the TV- the radio- the dishwasher, central air, central vac- but do not take away my laptop- I need my ActiveRain fix,,,gotta check my email-

Welcome back to the land of the connected.

Stacey-Ann.. Who's idea was it for the "forced electronic vacation".. and why?  It is a great way to help go green for a while, that much I can say.

Barbara & Valerie - I just moved to a new home on Saturday and we had to wait until today to get everything installed, hence the forced vacation.  I am amazed how much I missed checking ActiveRain.

A few months ago we had a power surge at our house.  We were without satellite, internet, and a few other things for over a week.  And it was the morning before a big game that my husband had been waiting for.  We actually went to another couple's house to watch the game and browse the web.  Yep, it's truly an addiction...

Welcome back Stacey-Ann.

HI STACEY!  Welcome back!  It is weird when you can't connect.  Sometimes we need to do that...take a forced break!

See ya,

I hate power outages.  You realize how dependent you are on electricity.  We lost power last year for 4 days in the middle of winter.  Wasn't that great of a time.

Richard - Thank you

Tracy - You wonder how we survived in the past.

Yvette - A short break is nice.

And I thought it was just me that was addicted!  My week long w/d from the internet (mostly AR) was something that i was consumed with even before I went away!

Welcome back to the 21st century!
