I know many of you will say, so what? It was very exciting for me. I just became a citizen this year. Even though I have lived in the US since 1992 and I have always been interested in and very knowledgeable about politics this is the first year where I actually have a say. I can't think of a more exciting and important time for me to be able to vote. I was surprised at how emotional I felt when my registration card came in the mail yesterday. Now I wish that the election was this week so that I could go use it (i'm also a bit tired of all the campaigning now).
I hope everyone who has the right to vote and who is registered will go out and vote this year. There are many people who wish they were able to vote, so regardless of your political opinions or party affiliations those of you that are able to vote better take advantage of this awesome right you have and go let your opinion be known.

FINALLY! A DOCTOR WHO MAKES HOUSE-CALLS!

Stacey...congratulations on your citizenship and your voter registration. I still get excited about voting and I've been doing it annually for more than 30 years! Thanks for the positive post!
great post - i hope everyone does go out and vote.
I just got my voter registration card this past week. I was getting worrried that it would never come. I've moved states since the last time I voted.
Remember those words of wisdom... "Vote Early and Vote often"!!! LOL
your friend in Charlottesville!
Stacey,
I am so proud that you take your citizenship seriously, I wish all Americans did! Always vote in every election, city, state and federal. That is your right and many Americans have died to give you that right. YOU ARE A GREAT AMERICAN!
Stacey-Ann:
From my perspective, I would never say "so what" to someone that has obtained their voter registration card. On Saturday, I was moved by a January 1984 speech that was on YouTube.
It discusses the importance of EVERYONE getting involved. There are many people that have been rebuked, humiliated, beaten and killed for the right to vote. No one should ever say "so what" to the Stacey-Anns of the world.
CONGRATS! I'll see ya at the polls on one week from Tuesday.
Stacey-Ann - Congratulations on getting your voter regristration card! I'm really excited for you... :)
Stacey-Ann...
Congratulations! Now you are part of the solution, so get out there and VOTE!
Laura - I don't know how a person can feel anything but excitement.

Stacey, congratulation on becoming a US Citizen. Voting is a privilege and a right, and you have earned it. Let our voices be heard at the polls. Thanks.
Congratulations! And you have one of the most contested elections in history to vote on!
Hi Stacey,
Congratulations. Be prepared for an influx of advice on WHO to vote for and make sure to ignore it all. YOU are the one to decide who to cast your vote for, not a stranger or even a relative.
Aloha,
Richard
Stacey- Congratulations! You are obviously much more informed than many citizens who have been voting for decades! Thanks for reminding us all about the importance of voting.
Stacey-Ann, how very exciting! Thank you for sharing this. Kudos and congrats on your citizenship and voter registration card! Follow your heart and vote who you believe in. Enjoy your day. Regards, C.
Stacey... Congratulations! I also just registered to vote but I have yet to receive my card in the mail. Bummer for me though, but I am excited to have my say this year.
All the Best and Congratulations!

Congratulations Stacey-Ann! It is very exciting to be part of the political process and this will indeed be an historic election. I'm very impressed you take your citizenship so seriously. It's been an exciting 11 months for me and we've registered a lot of new voters here in Virginia, but I am ready for it to be over now!
Congratulations! I am very proud of you. I know the process of becoming an American Citizen is not easy and cannot be taken lightly. You are absolutely right! It is not only our right to vote but our responsibility as well.
Stacey-Ann - how great for you, I still remember how excited I was to get my first registration card, even though I was born here.
Catherine - I am ready for it to be done too.
Melody - Thank you so much for those nice sentiments. I really appreciate it.
Mike - It was a very exciting experience finally getting it in the mail.
