For the umpteenth year in a row I have resolved to lose weight and get healthy. This year i've been working with the help of some of my active rain buddies.
I made the mistake of letting my 6 year old know that there are work out videos on demand on our cable. First thing she said when I got home was "When are we going to work out?" She asked me about 100 times until I agreed.
As we were doing the biggest loser cardio something or the other, I was grumbling that I didn't like the workout and she said "It doesn't matter if you don't like it, your heart is getting stronger!"
What did I do? I shut up and finished the workout and then we went on to do one for Abs and one for Buns too.
She's as good as any personal trainer!!!!

FINALLY! A DOCTOR WHO MAKES HOUSE-CALLS!

Stacey, You have one special 6 year old. What a motivator and a delightful way to spend time together. I think you are glad she knows. Now if there are rewards for each pound lost, I do believe you have yourself the perfect trainer. Good luck with your healthy goals.
Ha Ha Stacey-Ann, those little kids can get adults to do a lot of things they don't really want to :-) Great job sticking with it!!
Check out yoga....my grandson and I do it Saturday evenings 9pm on FitTV channel...
Margaret - you are probably right. Its a great way to "enjoy" something together
Mary - I think she's going to make me stick to it.
Pat - i'll check that out, variety is the spice of life.
Stacey-Ann, From the mouth of babes, eh? My workout here in snowy Michigan is caring for my 5, yes 5 horses. Yoga or Pilates are also terrific & fun to do with your daughter.
Kudos to your child. You could always take her out for ice cream for helping you!!!!
Hi Stacey;
I love the comment "It doesn't matter if you don't like it, your heart is getting stronger!", very smart 6 year
Marian - I bet you gets lots of exercice with the horses.
Russ - The problem with taking her for ice-cream is that I would have to eat soom too.
Anthony - I thought it was a super smart comment, myself. Thanks.
As a mom, you should know that there are things you make your daughter do that she doesn't like, but are good for her. Keep up the effort to get healthier!
Can I borrow her? My daughter is too young to talk, but she sure gets a kick out of watching me work-out!! She just grins and giggles. Hmmmm, now that I think about it, should I be self-conscience? hehehe ~A:)
Stacey,
That is so cute. I have a seven year old daughter and the things she says make me smile every day. Good luck to you in your workout endeavors.

Stacey good luck with your new fitness trainer. Children are the best, huh. Their smiles and words of encouragement make the hardest days easier. You are blessed to have a wonderful daughter who wants you to succeed. :)
Rich - it was her payback.
Alisha - can you imagine what she's thinking watching you? How old is she?
Olga - Kids really say them most amazing things.
Charles - we certainly think so
Gail - I think she will be a great motivator.
Children have a lot more wisdom than we realize. I cherish my daughter and her words often are very encouraging and helpful. Thanks for sharing such a sweet story.
