Stacey-Ann's Blog

Morning is now in the middle of the night.

Its hard to get motivated to start the day when the beginning of the day is still the night.

When my alarm goes off between 6:15 and 6:30am I am not a happy woman.  A morning person I am not.  This week it has been really tough because I roll over and its pitch black outside!  Getting my daughter up and ready for school is a bear on a good day but now that its dark its downright impossible.  If she takes the bus she needs to be at the stop at 7:05am.  This week that is still almost completely dark.

Psychologically, I feel as though I am sleep deprived even though I go to bed at the same time as always and get up at the same time as always.  All i've lost is that one hour Saturday night but my body is not adjusting well.

I don't mind daylight savings time when its really warm and you can take advantage of the longer evenings to take walks or play outside, but right now, its just throwing off my motivation.

I want my mornings back!

I'm with you Stacey.  I feel like my body has the internal clock, and when time changes it really throws me off too.  What stinks is that for years Indiana didn't change our clocks, but a few years ago they voted to change like everybody else does.  Oh well...  hope you adjust soon and can find that morning motivation again!  :)

I'm not with you.  I'd rather have it dark when I wake up and have it light when I go to bed.  Sorry...I wish that I was with you here, but different strokes for different folks, you know?

Stacey, I have adopted a no sleep routine and that takes care of it! HaHaHaHa!

I'm in the last weeks of my pregnancy.  Between the time change, middle of the night bathroom visits, a baby that must like practicing field goal kicks during the night, a daughter that suddenly enjoys climbing in our bed at 3am - with her hard, plastic Barbie in tow, a snoring husband, and a dog that has a "hey, everyone else is in the bed, so I'm climbing up too" attitude, I'm lucky to get two consistent hours of sleep lately.  I wasn't a morning person before, and I'm definitely not one now.

I wish it would just stay one way or the other.  We have to adjust and then readjust.  I don't think it is worth it.

It is amazing the difference in 1 hour.  I agree, now when I wake up my son by drawing back his curtains it is pitch black and doesn't have quite the same effect.

Stacey-Ann, I'm with you on this. The problem is I have two dogs who I swear can read the digital clock and get up at 6:15 every day. Dark/light, it doesn't matter to them. Rich

Stacey-Ann - You just need to move to Arizona where the time never changes, ha, ha.  I remember living back in Oregon when it would get dark before you got off work at 5pm.  I didn't like that at all, and would much rather have it be dark in the morning.

I know we only lose one hour once a hear, but it feels like we lose an hour every single night!

Ah, but now you can show a house or two after work and your buyers can actually see what the outside looks like.

Stacey-Anne- I feel your pain. My two year old starts his early AM serenade of "Mummy, Mummy, Mummy" and has no regard to for the new time zone!

Jared - me too

Larry - I like it light in the evenings too, I just wish it didn't affect the mornings.  I'm greedy, I want it all.

Caren - that no sleep routine would solve the problem

Tracy - Congrats on the pregnancy.  I remember those sleepless times.

Paddy - I'm never good with transitions

Shelton - just this morning my son said, "Why do we have to get up its night?"

Rich - sounds like my kids

Troy - Arizona sounds like a plan for several reasons :)

Pat - It really does feel like we lose it every night

Rich - It does make evening showings easier

Ellie - Why are kids always up early?  Someone should study that :)

Debi - I hope so.  The DST transition seems really early this year.

Hi Stacey-Ann, I am still on Mountain Standard Time !! LOL!!  Since I don't have to get a child ready for school, I am just doing everything an hour later.  I hope soon, I will be with rest of the people and get on DSL!! :-)

Mary - I feel like my body is still operating 1 hour behind.  I'm hoping it will catch up this week.
